 Coveside Physical Therapy, LLC is a private practice providing physical therapy services to the older adult community. 


Services are delivered one-on-one in clients’ homes including Independent and Assisted Living Communities as well as Islands within Casco Bay.


You do not need to be home-bound to receive services. Medicare and most major insurances accepted. 

About Us

 If pain or another medical condition is impairing your ability to perform an functional mobility, that can be an indication that Physical Therapy intervention is warranted.

Dementia results in a decline in mental ability severe enough to interfere with daily life activities. There are many conditions/diseases that cause dementia with Alzheimer’s disease as the most recognized. Physical therapists work with clients living with all forms of dementia to retain existing function for as long as possible with the use of adaptive techniques and compensatory strategies.


Examples of interventions:

  • Home safety Evaluation
  • Provide education and support for family and caregivers
  • Environmental modification
  • Teach strategies for safe ambulation and functional mobility
  • Teach Strategies to decrease wandering
  • Teach Strategies to decrease agitation

Meet Elizabeth

Elizabeth Doughty, PT, DPT, GCS, CDP has been a Physical Therapist for over 6 years. She graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Ithaca College in 2015. She is a APTA Board Certified Geriatrics Physical Therapist as well as a  Certified Dementia Practitioner.  She is a member of the APTA, part of the Geriatric and Maine Sectors. Her passion is to assist in keeping elderly adults as independent for a long as possible to allow them to enjoy their life to the fullest.

When she is not serving the older adult community, she enjoys going to the beach, biking and  spending time with her husband, Josh, and dog, Finnegan.
